The Columbus Jewish Historical Society is beginning its fourth year of motivating Jewish middle schoolers to start learning about their genealogy and family history.

During the Thanksgiving holiday season, Agudas Achim, Beth Tikvah, Beth Shalom, and Temple Israel seventh and eighth graders have an assignment to talk to their relatives, especially the elders, about their family’s origins and history. They will come to religious school, perhaps with their parents, on December 4 for Genealogy Super Sunday, during which CJHS facilitators will encourage them to share family photos, keepsakes, documents, and other family information.

The genealogy committee is seeking interested CJHS members to observe at a Genealogy Super Sunday session as a way of learning some of the activities the genealogy committee does and maybe even catch the genealogy fever! Contact the CJHS office for more information and to sign up as an observer. Please call 614-238-6977 or email our offices at history@tcjf.org .
