Description:
One seven—branched white porcelain menorah, manufactured by "Dresdner Porzellan," a German Porcelain Company that was established in 1872.

Menorah belonged to Frank Georg Wobst, who was the retired Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Huntington Bancshares Incorporated. Mr. Wobst died in 2009.

Mr. Wobst was born and raised in Dresden, Germany, and moved to Columbus, Ohio, in 1958. In the 1990's he became involved with the Columbus—Dresden Sister City Inc., a nonprofit organization "formed to promote the relationship between the City of Dresden, Germany, and Columbus, Ohio." One of the organization's goals was to fund raise for rebuilding the Dresden Synagogue that was destroyed in the 1938 Kristellnacht event.

The synagogue has since been rebuilt (2003) and has one original piece from the destroyed synagogue, a Star of David which sat upon the original Syanagogue. Link to the New Synagogue: http://www.dresden.de/en/05/036_synagoge.php
