Jewish cemeteries and burial records worldwide, from the earliest records to the present. It is a compilation of two linked databases: a database of burial records, and a database of information about each particular cemetery. JOWBR’s aim is to catalog extant data about Jewish cemeteries and burial records worldwide. Photographs of the gravestones (matzevot) are also included in this database. As of June 2017, JOWBR contains more than 4.3 million burial records from approximately 10,300 cemeteries / cemetery sections representing 144 countries.

Thanks to the efforts of Jules and Cyril Duga, members of the CJHS, records of Columbus burials as well as those of central and southeastern Ohio and West Virginia are a part of the JOWBR collection.
