I grew up at the synagogue, attending Sunday School there.  Rabbi Zelizer and Cantor Halperin officiated at my bar mitzvah service and later at my confirmation ceremony.

After I was confirmed, I, along with the others in my confirmation class, loved coming to the synagogue so much, we asked if we could keep coming on Sundays.  A class was started in the Minnie Cobey Library and the entire confirmation class continued to show up every Sunday, just because we enjoyed being together at shul.

In 1964, I left Columbus and moved to Dayton to manage a pharmacy which I then purchased.  I ended up staying in Dayton for 34 years.

In 1997, I moved back to Columbus and bought my father’s house.  I returned back to my same seat at Tifereth, in the back corner.  When my father died in 1998, I attended 7:30 a.m. minyan for the next 3 years.

I miss seeing all my friends from Tifereth, including Jerry Knight, of blessed memory, who always sat near me.

I continue to attend services in person or on Zoom and will always feel connected to Tifereth.  Rabbi Berman has been a great support to me through the years and calls me every Friday.

I encourage the younger generation to become involved in their shul.  It is rewarding and a wonderful way to make lifelong friends.
